Abstract(in English) Aiming to develop a simple thin film processing technique using nano-particles, we have prepared ZnS : Mn phosphor thin films with Mn-ion-containing ZnS nano-particles. We have characterized the phosphor thin films by x-ray diffraction (XRD) measurement, observed the film surface and cross-section by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and analyzed the depth profile of the atomic composition by x-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS). We have also evaluated by photoluminescence (PL) and photoluminescence-excitation (PLE) spectra. Applied in electroluminescent (EL) devices, the ZnS : Mn thin films successfully emitted orange light.
