White Emtting TFEL Devices Using Hypercomplex Sulfide Phosphors

Abstract(in English) White emitting EL devices were prepared with the stacked layers of blue-green emitting SrAl_2S_4 : Eu film and amber emitting ZnS : Mn film. CIE color coordinates of these devices were x=0.266, y=0.417. Luminance under 1kHz sinusoidal wave was 985cd/m^2 with greenish white color. Ba doped SrAl_2S_4 : Eu films were also prepared. The color tone was controllable with the ratio of Sr and Ba. EL devices having stacked layers of ZnS : Mn and Sr_<0.5>Ba_<0.5>Al_2S_4 : Eu showed pure white emission and CIE color coordinates were x=0.333, y=0.333.
