Lossless Lossy Unified Coding of Multispectral Images for Color Reproduction

Abstract(in English) Multispectral image compression method for color reproduction has been proposed, which reduces deterioration in color. However the method is not applicable to lossless coding system because it uses real number calculation. Meanwhile, matrix factorization technique has been proposed to approximate any real number liner transform by reversible integer mapping. We implemented lossless lossy unified coding system of multispectral image for color reproduction based on JPEG2000, by replacing real number inter-band calculation by reversible transform. Reversible KL transform (RKLT) and reversible weighted KLT (RWKLT) were tested and the result shows that substitute lossless transform for lossy inter-band transform yield no deterioration of color reproducibility.
