Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) While a coaxial cable is popular and convenient for the feed lines of the antennas for the radiation characteristics measurement system, it has been difficult to measure the radiation field of the antenna under test over the solid angle of a sphere because of the scattering waves from the coaxial cable. So, optical electric field probe in which nonmetallic materials are mainly used is expecting to play an important role in the electric field measurement. In order to restrain the diffraction of radio waves, the amount of dielectric material for the mechanical structure supporting the radiating elements should be minimized so as not to intercept the radio waves from the device under test. In this paper, the ripple of the H-plane radiation pattern for the dipole antenna was used as an evaluation index for the scattering effects of the mechanical structure in order to evaluate the structural configuration of the mechanical structure. The frequency characteristics of the mechanical structure for the cross-polarized wave and the ripple of the H-plane radiation have been analyzed by using the FDTD method.
