Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless networks are wireless communication systems composed of multiple nodes, each of which is equipped with multiple antennas. As proven by earlier studies, point-to-point MIMO offers significant capacity through spatial multiplexing and diversity techniques. Furthermore, recent studies have shown that the proper use of relay nodes in a MIMO wireless network improves the capacity due to distributed array gain in source-to-destination communication. This paper proposes two relaying schemes for MIMO wireless networks. Their major advance is to perform QR decomposition on backward channels in conjunction with phase control at each relay node, and to employ successive interference cancellation at the destination node. These operations provide distributed array gain among multiple relay nodes and receive array gain at the destination node while maintaining maximum spatial multiplexing gain. Numerical examples show that the proposed relaying schemes increase capacity over conventional relaying schemes.
