Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Infrared polarization characteristics of Cu nanowires were investigated. The nanowires were prepared by electroplating Cu into etched-track nanopores formed in poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET) film by high energy ^<129>Xe^<23+> ion irradiation followed by sodium hydroxide etching. The irradiation was made at 450MeV to the fluence of 3×10^5ions/cm^2 at an angle tilted by 45° from the normal direction. Cu nanowires of around 1μm thick were formed in 25μm-thick PET films. The infrared spectrometry clearly showed polarization characteristics in the direction normal to the nanowires.
