Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have noticed C_<60> molecules as organic electronic device materials and tried to realize C_<60> nano-scaled devices by the two processes : top-down and bottom-up methods. By the top-down method CaF_2 epitaxial films were grown by evaporation in order to prepare a C_<60> FET. The channel layer, C_<60> thin film grown on the CaF_2 film revealed c-axis orientation and a hcp structure. By the bottom-up method a 1-dimensional arrangement of Au fine particles was formed along the step edges on single crystal substrates and may be adapted to a mono-molecular device. C_<60> monolayers were synthesized on the nano-structured Au aggregates by a re-evaporation method.
