Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Storms, floods and sediment runoff disasters, which are taking place in Japan and Asia Monsoon region and causing much damage every year. This paper describes recent disaster situation in Japan and earth observation systems monitoring these disaster events, some problems in satellite remote sensing in disaster management, and an example of flood-sediment-runoff modeling and forecasting, as well as future direction.
