Abstract(in English) | In order to achieve high sensitivity to use GPS receiver such as indoor or in urban area, it is required to perform long time integration over navigation data bits. For example, in Assisted GPS (AGPS) method, long time coherent integration is achieved by referring to the aided navigation data bit sequence obtained from external infrastructure. However, the problem of AGPS method is that high sensitivity can not be achieved where the aiding data are not available. In this report we propose a method to achieve high sensitivity for GPS receiver without aiding data. In our proposed method, (1) All patterns of bit sequence are locally generated and navigation data is estimated by searching, (2) Computing load is reduced by skipping search for navigation data bit boundary. Applying the proposed method, high sensitivity is achieved without external aiding data with relatively low computing load. It was confirmed by computer simulations that the proposed method can achieve the sensitivity improvement of 22dB with only-0.3dB integration loss. On the other hand, computing load was reduced to 1/2 compared with the case of no skipping search of bit boundary. |
