Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper investigates the optimum coding rate of very-low-rate Turbo coding and spreading factor (SF) value for achieving one-cell frequency reuse in the forward link VSF (Variable Spreading Factor)-Spread OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) packet wireless access. Simulation results clarify that the minimum coding rate is approximately R=1/8 for obtaining clear additional coding gain from the random code spreading, and that by applying hybrid ARQ with packet combining, the required SF value is significantly decreased compared to the case without ARQ. It is also elucidated that the spreading with SF values of 64(8) and 16(2) is needed in addition to Turbo coding with R=1/8 for achieving one-cell frequency reuse without (with) antenna diversity, when hybrid ARQ with packet combining is employed with the number of maximum retransmissions of 1 and 3 times, respectively. Meanwhile, when maximum retransmissions of 10 is allowable, Turbo coding of approximately R=1/4 is needed for achieving one-cell frequency reuse.
