Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Broadband fixed wireless access (BFWA) systems with mesh topology are considered a promising approach to realize high capacity and high reliability. The authors have proposed new system architecture of multi-hop mesh wireless networks. To confirm the performance of the system, we have developed prototype equipments and have started field experiments with these equipments. This paper evaluated delay and jitter quantitatively between a pair of source and destination wireless nodes by changing the number of relay nodes through the experimental networks. The jitter was measured from the arrival duration of VoIP packets. The delay met the specification of the system. The distribution of jitter is almost equal in the range of 1 to 5 hops. Furthermore, no degradation of jitter was observed even under an environmental that modulations were switched due to adaptive modulation functions.
