Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A wide dynamic range CMOS image sensor with burst readout multiple exposure is proposed. In this method. maximaly four different exposure-time signals can be read out in one frame period. High-speed cyclic A-to-D converters are integrated at each column. A prototype wide dynamic range CMOS image sensor has been developed with 0.25μm 1-poly 4-metal CMOS image sensor technology. The developed CMOS image sensor integrates 12b A/D converter at he column with sufficient linearity. The dynamic range of the prototype sensor is extended by a factor of 1791. The digital dynamic range is measured to be 19.8b or 119dB.
