A study on the millimeter wave permittivity measurement of a uniaxial-anisotropic dielectric disk

Abstract(in English) In this report, a permittivity measurement method of the uniaxial-anisotropic dielectric disk using a Whispering-Gallery mode dielectric resonator is discussed. The uniaxial-anisotropic complex permittivity is evaluated from the resonant frequency and unloaded Q value of the sample disk resonator with the evaluation formulas which are derived by using the approximated separation of variable method (A.S.V.method) or mode matching method. The measured results for sapphire disk in the millimeter-wave frequency band of 50 to 110 GHz are shown.
