Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a wide band VCO with oscillation frequency bandwidth more than 1 octave band using triple varactor-tuning circuits. We show that the proposed VCO can obtain 1.5~2 octave bands (the rate of maximum oscillation frequency to minimum oscillation frequency is 3~4) and a better flatness of phase noise in oscillation frequency band by using a varactor-tuning circuit at 3 ports of an active device. In C-Ku bands, we design and manufacture the VCO with triple varactor-tuning circuits. This VCO employs GaAs HBT with low flicker noise. Oscillation frequency band of the developed VCO achieves 1.5 octave and a fluctuation of phase noise and output power in oscillation frequency bands achieves ±2.9dB and ±2dB, respectively.
