Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As software development becomes increasingly large-scale, new systems must be developed not by individuals, but by teams. However, it is difficult for students to gain understanding of this subject due to limited practice opportunity in the university lecture environment. To address this, we implemented an easy to understand distance learning system to teach basic software development skills, including software design, writing specifications, programming, and module uniting. The system monitored and supported student learning using a mobile phone by indicating individual class ranking information and sending assignment reminder messages. Students could also exchange information with the teacher and with other students using a discussion function. This paper reports on the effect of this system on student learning in a subject of basic study.
