Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes the architecture of a WWW-based intelligent mathematical calculation tutoring system with handwriting interface. Distinctive features of our system are not only it recognizes handwritten symbols and gestures, but also it recognizes mathematical structures and operations of inputted expressions. By extracting PSTs' (Perceptual Structure Tree) differences between two expressions, student's calculation operation's errors can be recognized. Thus, an adaptable instruction against student's situation is expected.
