Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, online distribution of academic lectures to distance locations has occurred through rapid development of Internet technology. However, the main challenge to distance learning is student motivation, since it is more difficult to maintain long-term concentration in an isolated environment. At the same time, challenges have also arisen in the conventional classroom. Students these days do not interact easily and ask questions, making it difficult for the teacher to judge comprehension and progress. The main advantage of the face-to-face lecture no longer benefits today's classroom situation. To address these simultaneous problems - long-term motivation in distance learning and individual progress in conventional learning - we developed an online Blended Learning system combining face-to-face lecture and practicum coursework. Using this system, the teacher could track and evaluate a student's degree of understanding, and was better able to provide direct individual advice. At the same time, motivation was maintained through face-to-face lecture time.
