Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The OFDM-based WLAN (Wireless LAN) systems, such as IEEE802.11a system, have been widely used and their terminals are usually placed very close to personal computers(PCs). However, PCs radiate harmonic noises in the WLAN frequency bands (2.4GHz and 5.2GHz) that may cause interference with the WLAN links. Recently, PC clock frequency is intentionally changed with time (spread spectrum clocking; SSC). Hence, BER performance of IEEE802.11a WLAN systems is investigated applying frequency modulated interferences. Theoretical analysis and numerical simulations are carried out in order to discuss the effectiveness of the FEC on SSC on harmonic noises. It is found that average BER without FEC decreases as the frequency variation rate of the interference increases. However BER with FEC is degraded by the frequency modulation of the harmonics.
