Calculation of Human Body Impedance Using Real Human Models in the VLF to HF Band

Abstract(in English) The radio-frequency protection guidelines of Japan is recommended the limits of contact current for contact hazard due to an ungrounded metallic object under an EM field. However, contact current clauses are not adopted as force standards, because standard measurement methods are not authorized yet and the human body impedance may change by the human's individual difference and contact situation with the electrode. Therefore, it is necessary to confirm the human body impedance by the numerical simulation. In this study, the simulation of impedance measurement is performed to calculate human body impedance using the real human body models (developed by National Institute of Information and Communications Technology) and simple human body models with Impedance Method. The simulation results are compared with the measurement value and estimated value. As a result, the order of simulation and measurement value is corresponding, and the simulation using a real human body models are nearer measurement value than that of simple human models.
