Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | We have conducted the study on the biological effects of ELF electric field to contribute to the elucidation of the effect, the assessment of safety and the establishment of safety standards. For quantitative analysis, dosimetry techniques have been developed. With the techniques, we can visualize the electric field distribution around/on the biological body and the current distribution induced in the body. As a cellular effect, the possibility to control the immune function of macrophage has been shown. The mechanism of field perception was clarified. It was found that the essential cause of the seasonal variation of perception threshold is the variation of relative humidity. |
