Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the lower VHF band in Japanese TV broadcasting (ch. 1-3), radio waves from nearby countries reflect to ionospheric layer that is called to "Sporadic-E" and cause interference to the TV reception. "Sporadic-E" occurs suddenly depending on the season. This Sporadic-E propagation fluctuate dramatically over time, so when investigating technologies to avoid this interference, it is essential to have a grasp of the scope of interference wave level fluctuations, as well as the speed of these fluctuations. We used data measured in Mobara City, Chiba Prefecture, and on the rooftop of the NHK Science & Technical Research Laboratories, when interference was severe, to analyze the scope and speed of these interference wave level fluctuations based on statistical methods. As a result of this analysis, we found that the amplitude distribution of interference waves could be approximated using log-normal distribution, and that the fluctuation component of interference waves is a comparatively gradual fluctuation at around 2Hz or less.
