Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a novel approach in combining FEC and packet-level interleaving to combat burst packet loss over RTP based transmission. The proposed scheme can improve the recoverability rate of the FEC and reduce initial decoding delay of the conventional interleaved FEC. Thus, the proposed method can be applied for various multimedia applications such as audio and video conference, streaming, multicasting, etc. For simulation purposes, we applied the proposed method for transmission of JPEG2000 coded images.
