Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Various radio access networks are widely spread, which gives a pressure of end-host multi-homing. To achieve vertical handoff in multi-homed nodes, end-to-end handoff is necessary; after a mobile node changes its network interface, it notifies its peer of the handoff. The problem here will arise in large RTT communication and with high moving intensity. This problem can be mitigated by an introduction of the intermediate node, called MAP, which is used to hide the handoff to the peer. However, there does not always exist, MAP at the best place for each mobile node. Therefore, through simulations, we clarify the situations that MAP deteriorates the performance. Based on the results, we propose a dynamically switching algorithm between using MAP and not using MAP.
