Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is said that the normalized linear density (K) of conventional amplitude discrimination in magnetic recording is difficult over three, because of interaction between intersymbol-interference and random noise. Therefore, a waveform discrimination using neural network was proposed which learn and recognize feature of read waveforms. It was achieved that the random noise bit error rate (BER) of wave form discrimination can be simulated by computer, because sampling number can be reduced to four, and bits width of recognition calculation to six bits. Obtained results was that BER was 1x10^<-7> at S/N=20dB for K=5 and BER was 1x10^<-7> at S/N=17.5dB for K=3.
