A Study of the Error Resilience for H.264 over MPEG-2 Systems

Abstract(in English) In order to improve the image quality on the error-prone environment for H.264, the concealment technique on the missing macroblock have been investigated. However, these schemes use the information only on the video-layer but do not use the system-layer. Moreover, investigations on the image degradation due to the bit-error which results in incorrect parsing have not been sufficiently discussed. In this paper, we propose the error-resilience technique by cooperation between the decoder and the demultiplexer. The simulation results show that the proposed method will improve not only the SNR but also subjective image quality on some part.
