Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To yield a large communication capacity in future mobile satellite communication systems, a multi-beam system must be employed onboard antenna system that consist of 20-m class reflector and light weight 100-beam antenna feeder. This paper presents a novel antenna design method that can offer the virtually maximum communication capacity under the uniform resource allocation. To obtain the maximum communication capacity, the calculated antenna patterns and the characteristics of high power amplifier are used. Antenna gain and interference between beams that used same frequency are depended on the excitation weight of each feed elements. And the relation between the RF output power and intermodulation-distortion are depended on the operation condition of HPAs (High Power Amplifiers). Based on these parameters and conditions that achieve the communication capacity maximization, it is useful to design the onboard antenna.
