Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The number of satellite of a LEO system are generally large and they move fast. Thus ground terminals must often make handovers (HOs) by selecting a next service satellite from a few candidate satellites with rather short intervals. These HOs usually have bad effects on QoS. Especially HOs between two different type orbit satellites lead to large route changes. and consequently to the degradation of QoS. Therefore how to select and change to a next service satellite is an important issue. This research paper proposes a new routing-aware dynamic handover for LEO system with non-uniform distribution of users and dynamically changing traffic volume in order to achieve low degradation of QoS. This paper also demonstrates its effectiveness in terms of QoS through simulation results.
