Transmission Scheme to Mitigate Rain Attenuation in Satellite Broadcasting Utilizing the Receiver with a Storage Function

Abstract(in English) Because Satellite Broadcasting suffers signal degradation caused by rain attenuation, the authors propose a transmission scheme to mitigate rain attenuation utilizing a receiver with a storage function in this report. The transmission schemes are the time diversity transmission scheme and the parity-symbols time differential transmission scheme. From simulations using measured rain attenuation data, we have verified that service availability can be improved by applying these schemes by showing relation between the delay time and the service outage time.
