A Power Loss Measuring Technique of Ferrite Core for Switching Power Supply in its Actual Operating Mode

Abstract(in English) The details of method are reported to measure a power loss of ferrite core used for the transformer in a switching power supply in its actual operating mode. An integral way which is simple and convenient was used for a symmetric sinusoidal, a symmetric rectangular and an asymmetric rectangular voltage waveform excitation. But this way is unsuitable in respect of the accuracy, if sensed exciting current has time delay. High Frequency Resistive Meter is used for measuring the current without time delay, but this meter is not suitable for Asymmetric rectangular waveform excitation. Therefore, as an elementary but accurate method named, "Input Power Way", was proposed and used for the power loss measurement under the excitation of Asymmetric rectangular waveform. These measuring methods were compared with Calorimetric method, which is the standard way. Also some evaluation results, notices about measuring and error analysis are described.
