Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Probabilistic broadcast can simultaneously achieve high scalability and high robustness in distributed systems. Because of this property, or probabilistic broadcast has recently gained popularity as a potentially effective solution for disseminating information in Internet-wide peer-to-peer applications. In this paper we propose an adaptive technique that can be used to enhance the reliability of probabilistic broadcast algorithms. The basic idea behind this technique is to have each node retransmit broadcast messages depending only on the information sensed locally. The usefulness of this technique is demonstrated through experimental results.
