Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The BER characteristics can be improved by making each element of SMI(Sample Matrix Inversion) adaptive array antennas have interference suppression function (MMSE). In implementation of the joint space-time MMSE systems, the correlation matrix size is increased, and the processing cost and the convergence speed might be impractical. Then, the disjoint space-time MMSE systems have been studied. But, this system calculates MMSE in each element before weight vector calculation, space information on each array element is broken and weight vector characteristic is deteriorated. In this paper, we propose an improved disjoint space-time MMSE receiver, in witch the received signal matrix is first transformed in the space direction by FFT, a kind of orthogonal transform, and then the MMSE detection of the desired symbol is done on each transformed signals, and after the detected desired symbols are retransformed back into the space domain by IFFT, they are combined based on the MMSE criterion into the final estimate of the desired symbol.
