Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes an FDD and TDD coexistence scheme in which FDD channels is replaced by TDD channels if large downlink traffic is offered, otherwise normal FDD access is carried out on the channels. Since the existing FDD channels are replaced by TDD channels, no additional channels and no overall system update are required in this scheme while temporarily increased downlink traffic can be compensated. In practice, modification from FDD to TDD channels would be done with small effort. Performances of the proposed adaptive duplex method are evaluated and compared with a system homogenously occupied by FDD. Results indicate that downlink throughput is improved much while a little uplink deterioration in throughput is maintained.
