Abstract(in English) | This report deals with designing communication services by a signed language over mobile communications networks. We first introduce one example of communication services that is needed by certain people at an emergent situation, say a traffic accident. In this situation, a deaf person needs a signed language communication and hearing individuals including, for example police officers need communication by a spoken one. These two language requirements are equally important in resolving the communication situation. From this example, we can say a signed language communication service is no only for deaf people but also hearing ones. This leads an important recognition that a signed language communication is equally important as a usual spoken language one, and a user group of a signed language communication services includes those who use a spoken language in daily life. The combination of this result with the idea of universal design yields a new view of design of communication services by a signed language. In the report, we also focus on functioning of mobile terminals and network characteristics that are integral factors for designing mobile communication services. |
