Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This article shows technologies of Extensible Markup Language (XML) are very helpful to maintain integrity of configuration data in railway signalling systems. Recent software design for the system development tends to become data-oriented as the software takes central roles in function implementation. In some systems, consequently, development of data validation mechanism is a critical issue for ensuring of safety and reliability. To solve the issue we propose a solution that enables integrity of data to be achieved at reduced costs in the system configuration utilising the XML technologies through the data life cycle comprising data description, data validation and data maintenance. This solution practically provides efficient data representation based on the tree structure model of XML while developing a data validation system and a data maintaining system using XML schema and Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT).
