Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) There is a strong demand to make the whole signalling system more reliable. In the conventional railway signalling system, components are constructed to serve different purposes. We proposed a top-down requirement analysis, applied it to the signalling system of projected Shinkansen lines and composed a new system configuration. We analyze the reliability of signalling systems by using unconventional tactics and evaluate new signalling system configuration plans based on study results. First, the existing systems are decomposed into some equipments. Second the failure rate of the equipments is statistically measured with the data of accidents including natural calamities. Then, the failure rates are weighted by the total train delay time. The weighted failure rate is an appropriate measure of reliability. By comparing the values of this measures, we can determine which equipments are reliable.
