Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Data migration is an efficient method to handle skew of access-request distribution in parallel databases and distributed storage systems. However, it also causes performance degradation during the migration process temporally because it uses system resources such as local I/O or networks. To solve this kind of problems, we have proposed a method replica-assisted migration that use temporally replica data in other storage nodes during executing data migration. In this paper, we propose an efficient method to calculate access forwarding ratio for replica-assisted migration. It obtains the ratio with load estimation values and system-required quality. We also examine a granularity of access-forwarding, to take acount of disk cache effects. In addition, we show an efficiency of our method by the results of experiments.
