Basic Study of Support for a Lecture of Information Science Using Remote Real-Time Captioning System

Abstract(in English) We have developed a real-time captioning system which consists of two Stenographic Systems (STENOWORD-PC SYSTEM). It is possible to make a remote support service when these systems are connected with TV conference system. Now, we use the system for the support service of General Education Subjects taught by Part-time Lecturers. In order to adjust the system to supporting Core Subjects, we tried the system for the lecture of Information Science. We found that it was difficult to change some technical terms from speech to text exactly in this situation. We report the spoken speed of Lecturers, the relation between spoken speed and rates of exact conversion and so on.
