Abstract(in English) | As speech works the interface between computers and their blind users, its properties considerably affects the efficiency of their manipulation. Thus, the properties of speech adopted by the users of screen readers were surveyed to present basic data on the needs of improvements of speech synthesizers. The result shows (1) most respondents adjusted the speed of speech to the fastest, (2) most respondents did not change the default pitch of the voice (middle height), (3) more than 80% of the respondents set the sex of the speaker to the male voice. |
