| Abstract(in English) | This paper proposes a Web-hyperlink presentation method aiming to convey information swiftly to Web users with visual disability. As they get used to Web-browsing, persons with visual disability tend to read hyperlink text exclusively in order to acquire information quickly. However, since it is impossible for them to grasp the whole image of a Web-page visually, tracking only hyperlinks may be insufficient. It may cause failure to acquire needed information since the largeness of the page and the location of important information may not be communicated, or it may cause them to choose inappropriate links before the appropriate link is audibly presented making it necessary for them to turn back. To prevent this situation, this paper proposes a hyperlink presentation method in which the total number of the links within a page is spoken before the actual content of the page, and all the links in the page are numbered. By providing the total number of hyperlinks, users are able to guess how large the page is before reading the actual contents, and by adding the numbering method to this, it becomes possible for them to guess their current location within the page and how much of the contents is left to read. From an evaluation experiment with 7 subjects with visual disability, it is found out that the proposed method is effective in the improvement of operational performance of persons with visual disability. |
