Abstract(in English) | In the multicarrier transmission systems, the subcarrier adaptive modulation is widely studied where the modulation scheme and the coding rate are adaptively determined according to each channel condition. The transmit power control on each subcarrier improves the performance of the subcarrier adaptive modulation, but the performance greatly depends on the algorithm how the transmit power is allocated to each subcarrier. In this study, we develop the algorithm of the transmit power control for the subcarrier adaptive modulation that can achieve the maximum throughput under the condition of the constant total transmit power or the minimum total transmit power under the condition of the constant throughput. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified by the comparison with the algorithm proposed in the other reports from the viewpoint of transmit power, throughput, and peak to average power ratio. We also examine the performance of the proposed algorithm when subcarriers are grouped into several subchannels and the adaptive modulation is applied to each subchannel in order to reduce the overhead information data for the notification of modulation scheme and the adaptive modulation. |
