System Configuration for Multiband MC-CDM Systems

Abstract(in English) This paper studies efficient structure of multiband mobile communication system which can support both high data rate services and wide coverage. First, we present design criterion of appropriate bandwidths in multiple frequencies and show numerical examples. Second, we show a realistic scenario to transfer singleband system to multiband system gradually, considering actual problems of investment risk and frequency license. Third, we propose multiband MC-CDM system for downlink, that is a combined system with MC-CDM system. In the proposed system, multiband MC-CDM system handles different bandwidths in multiple frequencies. The transceiver structure is simplified by the same FFT/IFFT, sampling speed, OFDM symbol duration, symbol timing, and clock for different frequencies. Also, efficient structures of pilot signals, two dimensional spreading, data subcarriers, and paging channels are presented.
