Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As the number of resolvable propagation paths increases, the bit error rate (BER) performance of DS-CDMA with rake combining degrades due to increasing inter-path interference (IPI). Recently, it has been shown that the use of frequency-domain equalization (FDE) can significantly improve the BER performance of DS-CDMA downlink transmission. However, in the uplink transmission, since different users' signals go through the different channels, orthogonality among users is distorted and hence, MAI (multi-access interference) is produced, thereby severely degrading the BER performance. In this paper, we propose a frequency-domain multi-stage successive interference canceller (SIC) for DS-CDMA uplink transmission. The achievable BER performance is evaluated by computer simulation and compared to that of MC-CDMA uplink transmission.
