Packet Scheduling Algorithm Considering Fairness in SDM System Using Adaptive Antenna Array

Abstract(in English) This paper investigates the additional effect to take into account the channel quality and waiting time of each user for the conventional packet scheduling algorithm, which only considers the location of users, for space division multiplexing with adaptive antenna array beam forming. Simulation results show that, using the new algorithm, which simultaneously takes into account the received signal-to-interference plus noise power ratio (SINR) averaged over the scheduled users and their locations, the sector throughput is improved by approximately 5-10% and the number of users who have the transmission slot assignment probability of less than 0.2 is reduced by approximately 8% compared to the conventional scheme assuming 150 users/sector. In addition, by also taking into account the waiting time of the users, although the sector throughput is degraded by approximately 10%, the number of users who have the transmission slot assignment probability of less than 0.2 is reduced by approximately 19% compared to the conventional scheme assuming 150 users/sector.
