Throughput performance of DS-CDMA MIMO multiplexing with frequency-domain iterative PIC

Abstract(in English) Recently, multi-input multi-output (MIMO) multiplexing is gaining much attention for achieving very high speed data communications with limited bandwidth. However, in a frequency-selective fading channel, the performance of multicode DS-CDMA transmission significantly degrades due to distortion of the orthogonality among orthogonal spreading codes. We have proposed a frequency-domain iterative parallel interference cancellation (PIC), that performs frequency-domain equalization and PIC in an iterative fashion, for separating the signals transmitted from different antennas while achieving the frequency diversity gain and antenna diversity effect and evaluated its performance improvement in multicode DS-CDMA MIMO multiplexing. Broadband wireless packet access will be the core technology of the next generation mobile communications systems. For packet transmission, turbo coded hybrid ARQ (HARQ) is one of the promising error control technique. In this paper, the throughput performance of HARQ in multicode-DS-CDMA MIMO multiplexing with frequency-domain iterative PIC is evaluated by computer simulation.
