Investigation of 16QAM Mapping Employing Likelihood Detection Utilizing Decision of Partial Bits in MIMO Systems

Abstract(in English) The rapidly increasing number of users and services in mobile communications requires efficient usage of the available frequency band. MIMO (Multi-Input Multi-Output) systems are one possible candidate to meet these demands. This paper focuses on likelihood detection utilizing decision of partial bits in consideration of computational scale and data quality in the receivers (LD-DPB). In the LD-DPB scheme, first likelihood partial bits is decided using inverse channel detection and next the other bits which is not decided using inverse channel detection is decided using likelihood detection. We examine signal points of 16QAM assigned with good received data quality when a simple decision scheme of partial bits is used. According to results, we show that 16QAM scheme with the largest minimum Euclidian distance does not obtain the best received data quality employing the investigated LD-DPB scheme. In addition, it can be confirmed that peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of 16QAM scheme with the best received data quality is smaller than that of 16QAM scheme with the largest minimum Euclidian distance.
