Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, IEEE802.11 based wireless LANs are widely used. In order for those wireless LANs to provideefficient data transfer in environments where hidden terminals exist, various mechanisms such as CSMA/CA, virtual carrier sense using RTS and CTS frames, receipt confirmation using ACK frames, and Data frame retransmission, are introduced which are more complex than wired LAN systems. Therefore, when we encounter some problems such as the throughput degradation, the reason may be TCP level congestion or a bad communication quality over ratio transmission area, and so the analysis of the throughput degradation will be complicated. In such a case, the introduction of monitoring system with rich analyzing functions will be effective. In this paper, we describe the design of an intelligent monitoring system for wireless LAN through some experiments of wireless LAN communication analysis using conventional monitors.
