Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) TCP congestion control has been improved with Tahoe, Reno, New Reno and SACK. SACK gives the best performance in the four TCP versions and is widely used currently. This is because that the Selective Acknowledgement option let the sender know the segment losses effectively. In the most of previous works, the SACK performance is evaluated by computer simulation experiments. This is consideration only a load of network. However, in actual environment, additional CPU power is required for processing SACK controls in the server. We should take the effect in considerations in the performance evaluations. In this paper, we evaluate TCP performance with comparing SACK and without SACK option of TCP in actual network system. In the simulation environment, we additionally burden the server by downloading files and download data for evaluation by the two TCP versions. The simulation results show that SACK flow rate becomes smaller than that of TCP without SACK.
