Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Broadband services such as video distribution services have been starting according to the rapid progress of the access network. Because bandwidth of these contents tends to continue increasing and the Internet users have various network environments, we have to consider the way of the effective distribution of those contents. We take notice the layered multicasting, which is one of the solutions to provide optimum quality contents for users. We propose the new rate control method with control servers in layered multicasting, which monitor the edge routers' and users' condition, and control the number of sending layers at every users. We implemented the proposed method and show the result of the experiment.
