Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, an Internet video broadcasting or video webcast system by using Multicast Datagram Transfer Protocol (MDTP) is proposed. MDTP is a protocol for multicast communication that uses unicast addressing and IP Router Alert Option. A prototype is built to show an implementation of this system on an IPv4 network. The measurement results show that the system is able to do multicast. The prototype also supports scalable video webcast. Video webcast can also be built on top of the second version of MDTP to overcome the issue on traffic jump which is caused by the mechanism of MDTP.
