Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To evaluate the buffer overflow probability and the tail probability of the waiting time at a communication node is an important issue for the design of network. In this presentation, we would introduce some methods for calculating these values of probability by computer simulation or mathematical analysis. We apply those methods especially to an M/D/1 queue and discuss the accuracy of the numerical calculation and the computational complexity.
